‘Authors Hour’ host Wayne G. Barber interviewed me on WNRI radio, Feb. 18, 2025, 9:05am. What a blast! A real-live, old-fashioned broadcast in real time (alas, no podcast). We talked about living in New England, the attractions of Rhode Island and Cape Cod beaches, and the images from my book that he enjoyed: my children collecting pennies for charity; the scent of old dish cabinets; the book cover depicting a family holiday table; the sense that ritual grounds us in uncertain times. Kudos to the small radio stations and home-based podcasters who report factual news, speak their minds in service of actual democracy, are curious about the world beyond their own experience, and champion those who can’t speak for themselves.
